Privacy of personal information is important, especially on the Internet. Scribehost recognises and respects the importance of maintaining the private, protected status of member information, especially non-public information collected during the registration process. Collection and Use
Upon signup, Scribehost asks for your full name, your full mailing address, your phone number, and at least one working email address. This information is collected to process payments, check for fraud upon initial signup, contact you when your next bill is due, and contact you if there are any changes to Scribehost policies or terms. As per the Terms and Conditions, all members are required to keep this information valid and up-to-date. Scribehost also asks for a credit card number, for automatically processing payments. This information is encrypted, and transmitted via SSL. This credit card information can be changed by you at any time. Our staff sees only the last four digits of your card, and the expiration date. The remaining information is transmitted securely to our payment gateway. When pages housed on the Scribehost servers are accessed, the server collects information about your IP address, browser version, operating system version, referring URL, and other non-personal information. This information is collected in our server logs, and is used to evaluate site traffic. This data is not made available to the public, and is not used to track or profile individual site visitors. Certain portions of the site, such as the member support forums and the member account area, use cookies. These cookies store the user name and password. Unless specified by the individual user, these cookies are transient, and do not remain on a computer from session to session.
Disclosure
We have security measures in place to protect against unauthorised access, alteration, loss, or misuse of member data. Members are responsible for making sure that only they, or people they designate, access and use their account.
